Intention Statement

“You may not control all the events that happen to you, but you can decide not to be reduced by them.” – Maya Angelou

This quote has so much meaning to me. I found this quote my junior year of high school when I was looking a year book quote. Not knowing the impact it would have on my life. It has helped me throughout life subconsciously and consciously.

I started off with this quote because it is one of the reasons I started this masters program. If you would have to me at 17 years old in high school that I would have decided to continued my education after my bachelors degree, I would have laughed and brushed it off. I have little control of how my journey in life plays out, because what is supposed to happen will happen.

As I go through my Mastery Journey I will keep this quote in mind when I have doubt and feel the need to have control.

I was destined to be at Full Sail and now I know why. Multiple events have lead up to this point. The first one starting my freshmen year of college. I received a call from someone at Full Sail stating that I needed to see my academic counselor, mind you I wasn’t a student. Prior to going to college I had looked into going to Full Sail, but didn’t. Another instance is the very reason why I wanted to become an entertainment broadcaster/content creator was because of a show called “The Daily Buzz”, which I later found out was broadcasted on Full Sail’s campus. I wanted to intern for “The Daily Buzz” when I got in my junior year of college, but the show had stopped airing. Fast forward to now, I am currently an Outreach Representative employee for Full Sail and now a Digital Marketing masters student.

This Master’s is important to me because I feel that my life’s experience, jobs, and my network have all led me to this point of going after my Digital Marketing Degree. As I go through this program I am hoping to find my life’s task and to grow as an individual. I have strong belief that God has a purpose for all of us, and I believe this is one of my purposes.

I am excited to see where this journey takes me. I can’t see wait to see the person I will be in the next 12 months. I am also excited to how I can take what I learn from this program into my future life’s goals and aspirations.
